Use LinkedIn

Is your business harnessing the power of LinkedIn? LinkedIn has emerged as the dominant social media platform for professional and business-to-business networking. Let’s look at three powerful reasons why you should use LinkedIn as an essential part of your marketing strategy.

How to Use LinkedIn For …

1.     Networking

  • Connect with business partners, employees, and industry leaders.
  • Join industry-specific LinkedIn Groups or start one of your own. LinkedIn groups build credibility, increase your influence, and facilitate business-to-business connections.

2.     Generating Website Traffic

  • Publish weekly blog posts as articles on LinkedIn.
  • Post native content to LinkedIn at least once a week to increase awareness, engagement, shares, as well as traffic to your website. How often should you post content? Well, according to LocalVox, posting daily Monday through Friday between 10-11am is sufficient. Curate or reshare a post every other day.

3.     Marketing

  • Add images to your posts. Posts with graphics see six times more the engagement than a post with just plain text does.
  • Post video content. A new feature to LinkedIn is the ability to post a video that plays right in your feed. How would video enhance your LinkedIn presence? Product demos? Tours of your facility? Perhaps you’d like to share how your business is making a difference in the community.

Schedule

Use LinkedIn – It’s Worth It!

Just like business relationships in the offline world, growing your LinkedIn network, reaching your target market, and generating leads takes time. But it will be worth it.

Consistently posting quality content and engaging with others in your industry and related industries will help to establish you as:

  • an expert in your industry
  • a thought leader in the LinkedIn community

Setting up your LinkedIn profile isn’t difficult, but it does take some know-how and time. You’ll want to do your research here. For instance, your profile should include keywords so your business page comes up in searches.

And consider whether or not you want to add a background image. It’s a good idea worth considering.
